President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Wednesday joined all Moslems in Uganda and the world to celebrate the feast of sacrifice commonly known as Eid al-Adha, one of the most important days in the Islamic faith, eminent in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim’s act of faith and obedience to Allah.
In a statement shared on the President’s social media handles on Wednesday morning, Mr. Museveni said, ‘’I join the Moslem Community in Uganda and across the world, to celebrate Eid al-Adha or the feast of sacrifice.’’
He emphasized that the teachings of Prophet Ibrahim among which includes sacrifice and obedience be applied by all citizens irrespective of the faith they subscribe to in order to build stable and prosperous families.
‘’Prophet Ibrahim, teaches the believers that sacrifice is the cornerstone of religion. This lesson should be applicable to all aspects of life. It takes, for instance sacrifice to build a stable and prosperous family. As you have seen, in Uganda, it took great sacrifice, for the patriots to restore peace and stability, in order to create an enabling environment for the development and socio-economic transformation of the country, ‘’ he said.
‘’Therefore, as you celebrate the feast of sacrifice, I urge the believers to apply Prophet Ibrahim’s spirit of sacrifice to all aspects of your lives,’’ he added.

President Museveni’s message to Moslems
President Museveni also indicated that his wife, the first lady, Janet Kataha Museveni was joining him in wishing believers what he called, ‘’blessed Eid al-Adha prayers and celebrations.’’
