Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, The Manager of the office of the National Chairman, has Tuesday extended the monitoring Exercise in Luwero District assessing the performance of beneficiary projects under the ONC Empowerment Programme.

During the site visits, Hajjat Namyalo reached Kigoloba Village in Lutembe, Katikamu Sub-county, where she met Mr. Sula Kanyike, a livestock farmer supported under the programme aligned with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s wealth creation agenda.

Mr. Kanyike received two goats a male and a female, as startup support aimed at promoting household income generation and strengthening small-scale commercial livestock farming at grassroots level.

According to the beneficiary, the enterprise has since expanded from two goats to 20 goats, marking steady progress driven by proper animal husbandry practices, availability of pasture, and disciplined management.

He noted that the project has become a reliable source of income for his household and has contributed to improved welfare and financial stability. Mr. Kanyike currently employs one worker who assists in the daily management of the animals.

He further explained that the goat enterprise has created additional agricultural value through manure, which he uses to improve soil fertility in his coffee and banana plantations, leading to better productivity and farm output.

Mr. Kanyike expressed gratitude to Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo for her continued grassroots monitoring engagements, noting that such visits encourage beneficiaries to remain committed and improve the performance of their enterprises.

He also thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his continued support for wealth creation programmes, saying the initiative has enabled ordinary citizens to transition from subsistence livelihoods to income-generating activities.

Hajjat Namyalo commended Mr. Kanyike for effectively utilising the support provided, describing his progress as a clear demonstration of how government empowerment programmes can transform household livelihoods when properly implemented.

She reiterated government commitment to strengthening grassroots enterprises as a pathway to wealth creation, improved household incomes, and socio-economic transformation.

The monitoring exercise forms part of ONC’s ongoing efforts to track beneficiary progress, promote accountability, and support the scaling up of successful livelihood projects across the country.
