Traders in Kabale district and it’s environs have embraced the homestay of the ongoing National Ball game II championship at St Mary’s College Rushorooza stating that the sports have created more opportunities for their businesses.
The National Ball Game II Championship was launched yesterday at St Mary’s College Rushorooza by the commissioner of the ministry of education, Dr. Duncan Mugumya. Over 8000 students are at the school to participate in various sports such as basket ball, athletics among others.
Speaking to our Reporter, Ambrose Atwiine, area sales manager for Coca Cola says the sport event has increased demand for their beverages such as Sodas and Rwenzori mineral water from students and spectators at various sports playgrounds.
Milton Tweyongyere from Humura Unique however noted a low turn up of customers on the second day of the games. He says unlike yesterday 12.07.2023, when the games were launched, the second day of the games has attracted low numbers of spectators which has affected their expected sales.
Traders are hopeful that there will be an improvement in sales when more locals come to cheer their favourite teams.
