The newly appointed Public Relations Officer to Judiciary, James Ereemye Jumire Mawanda has pledged to maintain good mutual relations between the judiciary and the media in Uganda.
“I am a person who is always happy to see you in court and I am supportive of the fourth estate. I want to promise you total cooperation,” said Ereemye
Ereemye was speaking at a handover ceremony when he officially term over office from the former PRO, Jameson Karemani who is heading to Kiboga as the area High court Judge. The ceremony was held at the Judiciary headquarters in Kampala today September 8.
The remarks followed appeal to the media by the outgoing PRO to continue good working relationships with the new PRO in order to make the Judiciary communication department approachable and better.
Ereemye stressed that partnerships and friendships are vital elements to perform better and committed to build a good image of the Judiciary by continuing with the open court days and engaging with the public in interactions.
He says this will help get feedback from the members of the public to see how they passive their image to improve service delivery and customer care key in building and maintaining reputable organisational images.
In addition, the new PRO urged the media to give coverage of the good things done by the Judiciary than publicizing negativity about the institution.
The handover ceremony started with a media briefing by the Chief Registrar, Sarah Langa Siu, to sensitize the public on court fees.
