The Chief Executive Officer of Nkozi Hospital, Dr. Criscent Tumuhaise, commended the Buganda Kingdom for its efforts in promoting social development among Ugandans.

Dr. Tumuhaise participated as the Chief Runner in the 69th Kabaka Birthday run held in Kayabwe town council, Mpigi district. He emphasized the importance of physical exercise for overall well-being during the event.

The event was graced by various dignitaries including Rev.Sr. Nalumansi Elizabeth, the Nkozi Hospital administrator, Mayor Kasule Zedi of Kayabwe Town Council, the Nkozi Subcounty Buganda Chief (Ssabawaali), and the assistant Subcounty kingdom Chief. Participants enjoyed entertainment and received health education, free HIV testing, and counseling services provided by Nkozi Hospital.

Dr. Criscent highlighted the Buganda Kingdom’s strategic goals known as “Ensonga Ssemasonga,” focusing on unity and social well-being improvement. He praised the kingdom for leading the fight against diseases and ill-health, vital for social development. Mayor Kasule Zedi acknowledged Nkozi Hospital’s contributions to the community’s well-being.

The Nkozi Subcounty Ssabawaali expressed gratitude to supporters of the run and encouraged continued backing of Buganda Kingdom initiatives. He revealed plans to renovate the Gombolola headquarters building in Nkozi, now under Buganda Kingdom ownership.

The Kabaka Birthday run is an annual event supporting HIV/AIDS initiatives to combat the disease. Dr. Tumuhaise and attendees concluded the event with tree planting, aligning with the Kabaka’s advocacy for environmental protection. The event exemplified the Buganda Kingdom’s commitment to social development and unity.
