National Unity Platform (NUP) legislator for Kalangala district woman MP seat, Hon. Hellen Nakimuli has passed away, the party announced.
According to the party president, Nakimuli died after unsuccessful surgery. Details regarding the cause of her death remain scant.
“Terrible, shocking news! Hon. Hellen Nakimuli, Woman MP, Kalangala District just passed on after an unsuccessful surgery! May God strengthen all of us in this very tough time,” he said.
Nakimuli, 41, was serving in parliament in her first term and was waiting swearing-in for a second later in May, following her re-election in the January 15 general elections.
Nakimuli’s last appearance at Parliament was during the 15th April 2026, plenary sitting where she expressed dissatisfaction towards Government’s report on Hoima City Stadium. Below is a video of her last speech at Parliament. MHSRIP.
