A thrilling friendly match between team Banyunye and Enkaito at Akamwesi grounds in Kyebando, Kampala on Sunday is creating tension as Nyakasura school Alumni shift their focus towards the inaugural season.

Despite having half of their best players missing, both Banyunye and Enkaito were able to display a beautiful game filled with some spectacular displays that will serve as highlights as the league’s start nears.

The incredible FC Banyunye overturned a three goal deficit coming from 3-0 down to win 9-3 in front of some respectable crowd at Akamwesi.

Enkaito boys had been accused of talking too much in the build up to Sunday’s encounter and it is upon this that Banyunye now claims to have won the rights to be called big boys though they were quick to caution that Sunday’s display in which they humbled their arch rivals, was not even half of what they are capable of.

It is evident that several boys still have the skills and flair and are capable of anything with the ball despite growing big and perhaps lacking enough time to maintain fitness.

Banyunye’s Geoffrey Maate and Julius Mukidi are among the many that defied the odds in Sunday’s friendly with some incredible eye catching displays that many times left the fans cheering louder. The two are looking to keep their great form untill February when the league shall start .

Maate’s Football history is almost untraceable but with his belly and a glass of some cola-like juice that he kept seeping while tending his goal, the famous debator was simply out of this world, while pulling off some rare world class saves. His performance was the opposite of the Enkaito goal keeper who has now been asked to find a place among the fans.

Enkaito’s Richard Mirindi and Joel Kusemererwa Bbala had a bad day in office but each had some moments to remind the fans about their quality and perhaps, the old adage, “Form is temporary while class is permanent.” Bbala, considered Enkaito’s mouthpiece has been accused of talking too much than working on his craft. The chairperson of team Banyunye, Paul Mujwara who blamed the the result on talisman was quick to console him after Sunday’s humiliation.

“Dear @Joel Bbala Snr, I commiserate with you for the football walloping you’ve had to endure this afternoon. But still, you can pick a few positives(not sure if there are any), dust yourself up and subscribe for the league.

Now let me motivate you, “every moment in life is precious and there is always another chance to shine” I remain yours, Paul(Team Banyunye C.P), Mujwara wrote on the league’s Social Media platform.

Mujwara who did not get to Akamwesi grounds followed the game online. Although he accused them of doing less than they say, he commended Enkaito’s spirit and willingness.

“If there is one thing Enkaito guys have in plenty, it’s the spirit and willingness,” he said.

Enkaito’s coach player and one of the team’s top leaders Joseph Kazooba left Akamwesi grounds crestfallen and looked convinced that his seniors had proved quite a rare breed though he blamed the loss on exhaustion in his team since some of his players had travelled all the way from Fort Portal for the match.

This was the first of the many friendly matches that have been organised as the Grand sons of Commander Calwel prepare for the inauguration of their league.

According to Jimmy Atuhairwe, team Banyunye will play SC Rugumayo on January 29th 2023 while Engogo FC is reportedly in plans to play Byaro FC and a big club in Kampala according to sources close to the team’s leadership.
