At least one person has been confirmed dead an seven others critically injured following a Saturday afternoon road accident along Kampala –Masaka highway.
The accident occurred at Maya on Kampala- Masaka highway after a Drone taxi, registration number, UBH 523G coming from Masaka to Kampala attempted to overtake two vehicles and had a head-on- head collision with a Toyota Harrier, registration number UBH 448J which was moving to Masaka side.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire blamed the accident and on reckless driving on the side of the taxi driver.
“The driver was trying to overtake two other motor vehicles and rammed into the Toyota Harrier. This led to the death of one of the passengers,”Owoyesigyire said.
He however noted that investigations into the exact cause of the accident are still ongoing.
