The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has announced that results for the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination will be released on Thursday, January 24, 2025.
Jennifer Kalule Muramba, the UNEB Principal Public Relations Officer said the release ceremony will take place at State House Nakaseero, starting at 11am.
“PLE 2024 results will be officially released on Thursday, 23rd January 2025, at 11:00 AM at State House, Nakasero,” she said.
The release follow a Tuesday meeting in which UNEB officials briefed the minister of education and sports, Janet Kataha Museveni on the general performance of the 2024 PLE.
During the meeting, Dan Odongo, UNEB Executive Director revealed that overall, the performance of candidates in 2024 is better than that of 2023, while specific details were not disclosed.
Education Minister Janet Museveni is expected to preside over the release ceremony which will be live-streamed on UNEB platforms and other selected media houses.
Data from UNEB shows that a total of 798,771 candidates including 379,420 male candidates and 419,343 female candidates were registered to sit for last year’s PLE exams indicating an increase of 6.6 percent from 749,371 candidates registered in 2023.
