President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has spoken out on the Labor Minister Mwesigwa Rukutana alleged Rushenyi shooting saga.
The emotions President stressed this via his twitter account on Monday morning.

“The cheating in the NRM Primaries is over. Those who beat People, like in Bukono, are all in jail or on the run.  Minister Rukutana is in jail and will be prosecuted…” reads excerpts of the tweet.

Rukutaana was arrested with his three security guards on Friday on allegations of shooting at people traveling in a motor vehicle where one person was critically injured and vehicle damaged.

The suspects were later transferred to Mbarara Central Police Station where they are currently being detained on charges of inciting violence, attempted murder and malicious damages.

No sooner had his voters in Rushenyi Rushenyi learned about the arrest news of Minister Rukutaana, than they took on streets celebrating the actions.

Yesterday, Grace Akullo, the Director Criminal Investigations Department (CID) taken over case investigations in which Rukutana was involved in a shooting incident in Rushenyi, Ntungamo district.

Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi regional police spokesman revealed the developments dismissing rumours that the suspects had been released on a police bond.

Kasasira said that the victim who is admitted at Mbarara regional referral hospital was hit by  a yet to identify object but not a bullet as alleged.

“The Director for CID has also found out that the injuries sustained by the victim aren’t from a bullet but from an object that is yet to be identified.” said Samson Kasasira.
