MUKONO
Kamuli district LCV chairman, Charles Mugude Maxwell Kuwembula has died in a fatal road accident in Mukono.
The accident happened in Nakifuma, Mukono district along the Gayaza–Kayunga road on Thursday the early morning.
He reportedly rammed into a stationary Sinotruck at around 5:00am while driving a Ministry of Health pickup.
Kuwembula, a member of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) had served since 2021. He was a key figure in Busoga region politics.
Rose Birungi, the Kamuli Resident District Commissioner (RDC) confirmed this report, noting that attempts to call the driver were futile. She said that the deceased was allegedly the only occupant of the vehicle.
Maxwell’s body has been taken to Kayunga Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
