The Salesians Of Don Bosco family of great lakes Africa province have received ten novices after they took their first vows into the salesian family in Butare Rwanda.
These novices include four Rwandese and six Burundians. Their vows come days to the 208th Don Bosco`s birthday celebration.
The ten brothers have been welcomed into the Salesian family after their Salesian ecclestical studies in the Novitiate Formation House in Butare Rwanda. The sacrifice of mass was presided over by Rev Fr Ngoboka Pierre Celestin, Great lakes Africa Provincial. He urged the new salesian brothers to bend low in imitation of the deeds of St. Don Bosco as their founder.
The Salesians Of Don Bosco are a catholic religious congregation that constitute brothers, priests and nuns who imitate the footsteps of their founder St. Don Bosco and their charism is to nature and educate the youth most especially the neglected and abandoned young people into responsible and God fearing citizens.
This ceremony follows the recent historical news in the congregation where His Holiness Pope Francis I appointed the Rector Major Rev Fr Fernandez as the new cardinal .The Salesians have for the past centuries put positive impacts on the lives of the catholics most especially the young people in nurturing and educating them into responsible christians and citizens to develop the church as well as their states.
The recent appointment of the Pope to the Salesian Rector major is unusual one since often times cardinals are chosen from bishops which has not been the case with that appointment. The Vatican council yearned to have a Salesian candidate to also have Salesian opinions in improvement and defending of the catholic church in the cardinals`symposiums as His Holiness noticed and acted in need of doing so.
Why don’t they have a significant habit for identification as Salesians
