In a tragic turn of events, the director of Oxford Secondary School in Ibanda, Muhumuza Godfrey, was found dead hanging in the early hours of December 24, 2024.
The 48-year-old resident of Jubilee Cell, Kyaruhanga Ward, Kigongo Division, Ibanda Municipality, was discovered hanging from a mango tree within the school compound.
According to police report, Muhumuza had been exhibiting unusual behavior and speaking incoherently on December 23, 2024. His body was found at approximately 12:30 AM the following day. The police in Ibanda district have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The body has been transported to Ruhoko Health Center IV for a postmortem examination. The police spokesperson, SP Kasasira Samson, confirmed the ongoing investigation and expressed condolences to the family and community affected by this loss.
