A senior four candidates at Rock High School in Tororo district gave birth, just hours before her morning exam on Wednesday, the school administration reported.
The student whose identity remains confidential experienced labour pains at around 3am and was rushed to Tororo general hospital where she delivered a healthy baby girl at 5am.
James Ogwang, the school’s Deputy Headteacher confirmed that the candidate successfully gave birth and was able to sit for her Physics exam in the morning.
“Both the baby and the mother are in good conditions,” he said.
He noted that this is the first time the school experience such an incident.
Rock High School registered 225 candidates for this year’s Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exams.
