Uganda’s fast-rising events host, Jimmy Muhangi, popularly known as MC Jimmy Junior, has died in a road accident along the Kajjansi–Munyonyo bypass.
His father, Julius Beyongyera, who serves as Communications Officer in Sheema District, confirmed the tragic news on Friday morning.
“It is with deep sorrow that I announce the untimely passing of my beloved biological son, Jimmy Muhangi, who tragically lost his life this morning in a fatal accident,” Beyongyera said in a statement.
According to family sources, Muhangi, 32, was involved in the crash in the early hours of the morning (August 22). Details of the accident remain scanty.
Over the weekend, the late Muhangi had joined fellow alumni of St. Mary’s Vocational School Kyamuhunga (MAVOCK) in Bushenyi for their annual league event at City High School Kololo. Members of the alumni community described him as a lively figure whose presence always left smiles.
Tributes have since poured in from the entertainment and events fraternity, where Muhangi had built a reputation as one of the country’s most promising masters of ceremony.
May His Soul Rest in Peace✌️
