At least six students are on admission at Karoli Lwanga hospital Nyakibaale following last night’s fire that gutted a boy’s dormitory at Kyamakanda SS, Rukungiri.
The fire according to reports started from Moon dormitory last night while students were attending night preps. Properties worth millions including beds, mattresses, books belonging to students were destroyed in the fire.
Six students whose identity the school has not yet disclosed reportedly fainted and were rushed to Nyakibaale hospital.
In related news, another fire outbreak yesterday (February 17, 2023) gutted section of Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.
The fire started from a grass thatched house at the hotel but it was quickly extinguished by the police fire brigade.
Fortunately, in all the two incidents no life was lost.
