The National Unity Platform (NUP) has released a burial program for the late Muhammad Ssegirinya, Member of Parliament for Kawempe North.
NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi, said in th program that Ssegirinya will be buried on Sunday 12th January, 2025, at his ancestral home in Masaka District.
The party is set to hold a vigil to honor Ssegirinya this evening at their headquarters in Makerere-Kavule.
On Friday (January 8), the body will then be taken to Parliament at 9:00 AM. There will be prayers for his body at Mbogo Mosque in Kawempe later in the afternoon.
“The body will be transported to his home in Kasangati before its final journey to Masaka for burial on Sunday,” the funeral program read in parts.
The burial was originally scheduled for Saturday, but the date was changed to accommodate the arrival of relatives from abroad.
Ssegirinya died on Thursday afternoon at Lubaga Hospital where he has been receiving treatment.
