The Project Director of USAID LPHS TASO Ankole, Dr. Abudallah Nkoyoyo has raised concerns over increased number of female students at Bishop Stuart University in Mbarara, Kakooba involved in inappropriate behavior, including selling their bodies for sex to corporate men in Mbarara City.
In a viral video, purportedly recorded on September 24, 2024, Dr. Nkoyoyo alleged that female students from the university have turned into sex workers, and claimed that the university had lost control of its student body. However, BSU has strongly denied accusations made by Dr. Abudallah Nkoyoyo, as baseless allegations and falsehoods.
In a firm response, BSU’s management has dismissed the claims as “malicious and false.” The university condemned the defamatory remarks, labeling them as both untrue and deeply disrespectful to the institution and its students, particularly women.
“The allegations are baseless and should be treated with the contempt they deserve,” said Kuribakanya Rose Rwankore, Senior Public Relations Officer, BSU. “As a fully chartered Christian institution, we are committed to upholding our values and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all students.”
The university has demanded that Dr. Nkoyoyo retract his statements publicly and issue an apology. They warned that if he does not comply, they will pursue further action.
Rwankore emphasized that the university is dedicated to its mission of delivering high-quality education in a Christian setting, with a focus on maintaining a respectful and secure environment for all students.
