The novel covid-19 pandemic has robbed Ugandan parliament of its law-maker, Hon. Robinah Ssentongo Nakasirye, the Woman MP Kyotera district.
Rt. Hon. Rabecca A Kadaga, the speaker of parliament, on Friday December18, announced the legislator’s death during the opening of Parliamentary sitting.
The deceased becomes the third legislator to die of COVID-19 in Uganda after Faith Alupo, the Pallisa Woman MP, and Hon. Rehema Watongola, the Kamuli WMP, who died in Septemeber & November respectively.
Nakasirye was the first woman MP of Kyotera district, created after the 2016 elections.
The Democratic Party [DP] member was contesting for the same seat in the forthcoming 2021 general election.
By Press time, no funeral arrangements had been released.
