SOROTI: Police in Soroti have arrested four suspects on allegations of theft of money from a student of Forest College Mukono.

According to police reports, its alleged that the thugs lured a student into exchange of Uganda Shillings into US dollar deal.

The student identified as Okurut Solomon was lured in business prospect, he allegedly invested Ugx 2,130,000 but later realized that he had been defrauded.

He immediately reported the matter to police which launched checkpoints in different places and the suspects were according to police intercepted at Awoja bridge along Mbale-Kisoro Highway.

ASP Ongom David Mungom, the East Kyoga police Spokesman identified the suspects as Makanya Fred 49yrs, Wamono Cyprian 34yrs, Edigu Emma29yrs and Namakola Ssalim46yrs. He revealed that one suspect only identified as Musa is on run and police is searching for him.

Ongom further said that police recovered 88 leaflets of 1$ worth 321,200 and impounded the vehicle Registration number UAV 013D in which the suspects were travelling.
