Uganda beats Senegal in historic 1:0 match

Uganda Cranes football club has written history after beating Senegal national team in the ongoing CHAN 2023 games in Algeria

Úganda’s only one goal was scored by Milton Kariisa at the 34′ after a failed penalt shoot for the Senegalese side.

Cheikh Tidiane Sidibé had the opportunity from the 11 steps and ended up missing the penalty in the 27′ .Ugandan goalkeeper Alionz saved the penalt shoot from Sinibe.

The second half started with Senegal coming out with more initiative looking for the equalizer but all in vain . A penalty was called for Uganda, but after a VAR review, it is overturned and play continues in the 54′

Senegal received a Red Card aftter a VAR review Mame Libasse Laye Ngom and was sent off in the 84′

Uganda Cranes Semakula was declared the man of the match.

In an interview shortly after the game, Semakula said that Uganda Cranes win is a win for the team because they are determined to compete and achieve their goals.

Starting from 2012 Senegal and Uganda have so far played 6 matches among which there were 3 victories of Senegal, 2 played in draw and 1 victory of Uganda.

The teams are in competition with each other in such tournaments as African Nations Championship, Africa Cup of Nations, Club Friendly Games, WC Qualification and CAF.
