The Uganda Cranes have secured their place in the 2025 Total Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a 1-0 victory over Congo in Brazzaville. Travis Mutyaba’s goal in the 55th minute ensured a clean sweep in their Group K encounters, following a 2-0 win in the first leg.
Captain Khalid Aucho’s early injury did not deter the team, as Bobosi Byaruhanga stepped in to maintain composure and resilience. Despite finishing second in the group due to South Africa’s 3-0 victory over South Sudan, Uganda’s qualification marks a significant milestone in continental football.
The Cranes’ journey showcased their determination and focus, overcoming numerous challenges to secure their AFCON ticket for 2025.
