Uganda’s COVID-19 cases rise to 114

Ministry of Health Uganda last night (8thMay,2020) confirmed 13 new cases of corona virus rising the total COVID-19 cases to 114.

The numbers risen after  2,241samples of truckdrivers  were tested in the country. Out of these, 13 samples tested positive for the virus.

In a statement by the ministry of health, 7 samples were of the Kenyan drivers, 4 are Ugandans while 2 are Tanzanians.

The ministry clarified that efforts to track the drivers has already commenced and that the public would be informed of any developments.

Furthermore, the Health Ministry said all 740 sample results from the ongoing community assessment surveys which were conducted yesterday tested negative something that gives hopes to citizens on the good health statues of the country.

The total samples which was tested yesterday is 3161.

So far, Uganda has 114 confirmed cases, 55 of whom are recoveries and have been officially discharged. There’s no any death fatalities in Uganda.
