While hosting the Kisoro district local government leaders and area traders for dinner at Tourist hotel, Mr Robert Mukiza, the Director General of Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) re- echoed the government’s commitment to developing the Kisoro industrial park. The district offered Uganda investment authority 620 acres of land for the development of an industrial park. Mr Mukiza told Kisoro people that the industrial park is a great catalyst to Kisoro’s development and Uganda at large. He encouraged traders to get themselves ready and prepare to occupy and enter the industrial park ecosystem as manufacturers not traders. As manufacturers, you will benefit more compared to as traders, Mukiza emphasized.

Kisoro district borders with Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda which strategically exposes the district to these huge markets. Once the industrial park is constructed and manufacturing begins, manufacturers will enjoy the Congo and Rwanda markets.

Robert Mukiza, Director General Uganda Investment Authority (UIA).

The district leadership headed by chairman Lc-5 Mr Abel Biziimana thanked Mukiza for always bringing the Kisoro people together. This is great effort of always wanting to bring us together is a sign that you have Kisoro at heart and for that matter, Kisoro and its people will always love you back, Biziimana noted.

The function was attended by strong and vocal leaders including Dr Philemon Mateeke, former minister of foreign affairs , Gen Kale Kayihura and Hon Nzeyimana Kamara, the district Khard , LC-3 Chairpersons and the Nrm district leadership.
