The Uganda National Examinations Board- UNEB has cautioned schools against fraudsters claiming to have access to UNEB’s grading system.
UNEB officials say that they have received credible information about some head teachers and heads of centres being asked for large sums of money to improve the grades of their candidates or stop their results from being withheld.
“It has come to the attention of the board that there are some imposters coning head teachers and directors of schools money, allegedly to either help them improve the grades of their candidates or remove their schools on the list of those suspected of examination malpractice,” UNEB said.
The warnings come at a time when UNEB is expected to release results from last year’s Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) scheduled on Thursday January 25, as previously announced by the ministry of education.
However, Jennifer Kasumba, the Senior Public Relations Officer UNEB says schools should not fall victim to the tricks of the fraudsters.
