Why Uganda’s clean energy transition lies in the hands of its communities

The Uganda National Examinations Board -UNEB has released this year’s examination timetables for Primary Seven, Senior Four and Six candidates.

Dan Odongo, the UNEB Executive Director while releasing the timetable at Media Center in Kampala on Thursday said the examinations will commence on 14th October 2022 with the briefing of the Uganda Certificate of Education -UCE candidates.

According to the timetable, UCE which is the first series of examinations will be conducted from 17th October to 18th November 2022 and this will be followed by the Primary Leaving Examinations – PLE from 7th to 9th November and later the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education -UACE from 18th of November to 9th of December this year.

Odongo says the timetables including Tue braille versions for learners with visual impairment involve regulations on the conduct of the examinations and caution to candidates on acts that amount to examination malpractice.

Over 1.2 million candidates have been registered for all the three levels of the final examinations, which indicates a 7.7 percent increase of the total candidature.

More than 721000 learners which is 56 percent of the total candidature are funded by the government yet over 564000 candidates which is 44 percent are privately sponsored according to UNEB.
