The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has announced that the last phase of late registration of candidates for this year’s national examination for PLE, UCE and UACE will close on Monday at midnight
“UNEB reminds Heads of Centers, Parents and Candidates that the last phase of late registration for the 2023 candidates ends on Monday July 31st, 2023,” the board announced
Jennifer Kalule Musamba, UNEB spokesperson says that learners who will have not registered for the exams will not be given any opportunity.
“Any learners that intend to register for the 2023 PLE, UCE and UACE Examinations should do so before midnight Hour of July 31. There after, there will be no opportunity to register more candidates of2023. Let’s ensure that no learner is left out.’ said Kalule.
The last phase of the late registration attracts a surcharge of 100 percent of the original set fees and that is to say 34,000/= for PLE, 164,000= for UCE and 186,000= for UACE.
This means that parents and guardians of the affected learners are paying twice the amount..
The board also advises heads of centres to to allow learners to check and correct their data that has been uploaded such as the correct spellings of the names, the date of birth, the gender attached to their names, their schools of choice before submissions to avoid inconveniences.

Kalule on the other hand noted that ammendments made by July 31st will be free of charge and should be informed to the board.
UNEB further upholds that any more amendments made past 31st July will be charged and fully paid.
“Beyond 31st July teachers have also been informed that no candidate will be allowed to be registered to sit for the upcoming examinations.” UNEB said.
