UPC has embarked on nation wide sub regional meetings countrywide with the aim of interfacing with sub regional leadership and membership
This drive is spearheaded by the party Vice President Mr. Fahad Mutenderwa Kinyiri and some cabinet members after the July 2022 meeting.
The party spokesperson Hon Arach Oyat Sharon notes that the consultations are to help the party in identifying and collecting member’s views and at the same time ensure that the rank and file of the party remains focused on achieving the objectives and aims of UPC.
The regional meetings started from Busoga to Bukedi, Bugisu, Sebei, Greater Mukono, Greater Kampala, Greater Luwero, Greater Masaka, and early this month, the vice president was in Rwenzori sub region in Fort Portal City.
The secretary General Hon Ebil Fred, assistant Administrative secretary Ms. Brenda Kinyera Atim and the Chief Administrative secretary Mr. David Baliraine also traversed the entire Acholi sub region.
The party spokesperson also made it clear that these consultations are to help the party move forward on sure grounds as they are more practical, involving and soul searching. The process is also a renewal of membership and recruitment drive. She also promised that these meetings will move to other areas of the country
In other developments, UPC has also re-launced the ideology school training. This was during the last quarter of 2022. Classes are every Friday 2:00pm-5:00pm.
The school will help masses understand the history of the party and also teach the UPC Party ideologies as a mobilisation tool
The schools will also be re-launced in sub regions across the country according to Arach.
