The Uganda Peoes Defense Force (UPDF) has said it will compensate owners of the two houses which were de-roofed yesterday by the force’s helicopter in Kyabakadde.
On Tuesday, a updf helicopter carrying the remains of the late Archbishop Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga destroyed the roof of two houses while landing. The helicopter had taken the dead body to the Archbishop’s home for public viewing.
Lt. Col. Deo Akiiki Asiimwe, the deputy updf spokesperson has urged the owners of the houses to make formal claims to the updf for compensation of the damages caused.
Archbishop Lwanga was found dead in his bedroom on Easter Vigil (Saturday morning) after experiencing a heart attack.
He will be buried tomorrow Thursday April 8, at Sacred Heart Rubaga Cathedral Church, the headquarters of Kampala Archdiocese.
