Police in Mbarara City South Division is investigating a case of murder that occurred on 15th August, in Katete Central Cell Katete Ward Mbarara City south.
The deceased was identified as Kyompaire Ruth a female adult aged around 35 years old, a business lady and resident of the Katete. SP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi regional Police spokesperson confirmed the incident.
Ayesigamukama, the sister to the deceased reported that the deceased has been staying in Katete where she has been operating a restaurant. It is believed that she got a man friend known as Moses who was seen looking for the deceased yesterday at the restaurant at around 7 to 11pm where she escorted him thereafter.
Yesterday Ayesigamukama confirmed that she received a phone call from the deceased’s neighbour Cynthia telling her that the deceased’s doors were open and her handbags were out all disorganized.
After so many attempts trying to reach her, they entered the house and confirmed she was dead. Ayesigamukama reported the matter at Katete police station for further investigation.
Police investigations commenced and one suspect Naturinda Moses was apprehended to assist in investigations and inquiries into the matter are still ongoing.
