Wakiso District Presiding Officer Tolbert Musinguzi has announced that Monday, October 27th, 2025, will be the day for a crucial harmonization campaign programs of all duly nominated candidates vying for parliamentary seats in the district.
In Wakiso, a total of 8 candidates were nominated for Wakiso District Women MP seat , 89 on direct tickets, they include 75 men and 14 women. Of the nominated candidates, 52 are contesting on party tickets while 45 are Independents.
Kyadondo East Constituency has the most candidates 15, Busiro East 13, Nansana Municipality 11, Busiro North 11, Busiro South 11, Entebbe Municipality 10, Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality 09, Kira Municipality 09, and Wakiso District Woman MP 08 candidates.
Addressing journalists at Wakiso District Electoral Commission (EC) offices, Musinguzi disclosed that this initiative is expected to foster a spirit of unity and cooperation among the candidates and all stake holders.
“Many Candidates have not been contented with some Electoral process, but this is the time they have to air out their concerns before normal campaigns start” Musinguzi said
Musinguzi advised candidates to be present such that they air out their challenges likely to hinder their smooth running of campings.
He also warned against early campaigns which he says is an electoral offense under the elections act.
