Police has sealed off the scene of crime where another suspected Bomb exploded in a passanger Bus belonging to Swift Safaris Limited.
The incident happened on Monday at Katende Lugala in Mpigi district along the Masaka – Mbarara Highway.
It is alleged that a Bomb exploded inside a Swift Bus registration number UAU 989T that was carrying passengers that was heading to Mbarara, the driver however was quick to stop the bus on the roadside to allow passangers get out.
Two persons (identity not disclosed) have been fatally injured and many others including the greater Bushenyi Regional Police Commander (RPC) Adrian Kwetegyereza, sustained injuries.
The Traffic Police Spokesperson Nampima Faridah has said that police is committed to investigate the incident and a detailed report shall be released.
By the time of compiling this report, Police had codonned the crime scene.
This is a second explosion incident in a course of less than three days with the recent one being an attack at Digida pork joint in Komamboga Kawempe Division Kampala.
One person identified as Emily, a waitress at the restaurant died on spot and several others were serious injured.
Islamic States (ISIS) a popular terror group has claimed responsibility of the attacks but police through its spokesperson CP Fred Enanga has since dismissed the claims under pretexts that the attacks were intentionally domestic attacks.
Parrots UG has learned that the worrying security threats have forced the head of state, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also the head of security in the country (Commander-in-Chief) to address the nation on the state of security in the Country.
Museveni whom in a statement on Sunday, noted that the attacks were terror attacks is slated to address the nation on Thursday at 8PM, according to his press secretary Linda Nabusaayi.
