AMOLATAR:
Police in Amolatar district on Monday arrested their own on allegations of defiling a 14-year-old minor in the district.
The suspected is Okello Ochan Maxman, 60 years, the officer in charge at Amolatar police station. He allegedly defiled a minor (identity protected) on Sunday evening.
The Kyoga North county MPMoses Okot alias Okot Bitek has told reports that there have been several reports on Okello’s conduct but they were reluctant to take action.
Ochan was arrested and police deferred to him charges of defilement under case file ref SDREF 18/25/10/2021. He is currently being detained at Amolatar Central Police Station.
MP Okot has urged police to carry out thorough investigation to ensure Ochan faces the law and ensure that the victim’s family receives justice.
