A heartless lover in Kanungu District Kigezi sub region has blown off his girlfriend’s life after he suspected her of cheating.
The lover identified as Nicholas Ampereza, 40, a resident of Kanyambeho village, Nyakinoni Sub County in Kanungu District.
He allegedly got misunderstandings with his lover a one Peace Namara, 27, after he found out that the latter was conspiring to get married to another man. This prompted Ampereza to pick a panga out of tempers and cut his girlfriend to death.
The Kanyambeho LC Chairperson, Turyatunga Baker reported the matter to Nyakinoni police which immediately visited the scene of crime.
According to Turyatunga, the two had been cohabiting together for some time and developed misunderstanding and Namara decided to get married to another man.
Elly Maate, the Police Spokesperson for Kigezi Regiona has confirmed to the tragic incident noting that the Kihihi Police led by OC John Bosco Kashumba, visited the scene and retrieved the deceased body to Kihihi Health Center Mortuary for a postmortem.
A case of murder was registered at Kanungu Central Police Station under reference number CRB 001/2022 and investigation are ongoing.
