The growing stress of not making enough money, losing a job, prolonged illnesses, unresolved court cases, marital and relationship challenges, unprosperous businesses create weariness in Christians
They tend to get stressed easily and may begin to feel down when they don’t see the results they want from their works.
Christians especially in the Pentecostal churches commonly referred to as the Born Again Faith Christians have taken their impatience, longing for blessing, desires, hurt from the other people and put them at the feet of Jesus who they say is the only One who is in control.
In urban and peri-urban areas in Uganda, these Christians spend longer hours of the day and nights at churches requesting for God’s interventions into their challenges.
However, to the Minister of internal affairs Maj. Gen Saverino Kahinda Otafiire, this is bothering of God with prayers instead of working hard.
“I have heard that some people spend overnights in churches, he who doesn’t work doesn’t eat! Work hard and stop disturbing God with prayers. Use your different body parts and wisdom that God gave you to earn a living but not bothering him shouting in prayers requesting for money,”
Minister Otafiire was today speaking as a Chief Guest at a function in Ishaka Bushenyi municipality for the celebration of 50yrs service as the Pentecostal leader of Bishop Don Tumusiime, the lead pastor at Ishaka Town Temple church.
During the celebrations, Otafiire warned christians against divisionism within Pentecostal churches something that has led to rapid growth of religious cults in the country.
“Christ left one church of twelve disciples, you should be ready to tell him when he comes back how you got these churches”, Otafiire told christians
He further appealed to born-again Christians also known as Balokole to desisit from fake and misleading pastors discouraging them from taking drugs, and taking their children to schools underguise of religion.
The minister said that education is the the only gift that a child can ever receive from his parents.
“If a child is educated, even though he/she becomes a nuisance after studies as an Engineer, lawyer, clinical doctor, after discovering his/her worth, he will eventually turnto his senses and practice his profession”, he advised
He contributed Sh5 million towards the completion of a multi-million Bushenyi town Temple church.
Speaking to journalists after the ceremony Bishop Nathan Ibrahim of Daystar cathedral Mbarara said they’re coming together today was a sign of reconciliation between him and church leaders in Bushenyi.
The host bishop Don Tumusiime, implored the youths to accept Christ Jesus as their personal savior testifying that his acceptance of Christ at the age 11yrs has helped him throughout these years.
