Building a strong relationship with God; Tukahaba’s Perspective

Because even in the house of God, not everyone who says “Hallelujah” means well

“As a generation we must push our standards high in order to avoid attracting and being duped by mediocre politicians masquerading as saviours or generational leaders.”

At almost every socializing place around kampala that is normally filled with the youth, “we want a leader of our generation” is a common mantra that has become popular that even some populist politicians have seized the opportunity to take it up with some self-proclaiming themselves as generational leaders.

But how viable is a leader of our generation?
Well, if we want a leader of our generation, then we must be in position to define the ideals and values of our generation which our generational leader should stand for. This will be our basis to determine the competence of the generational leader we want not based on politics of populism and sensationalism.

If we cannot define proper ideals for our generation, the leader we want will be fashioned according to the ideals we stand for! Ask yourself what do we stand for as a generation? I am afraid that as a generation, we are loosing the core stance of leadership which are values. On a simple litmas test we fail even on the basic morality values.

See how we speak to those in authority, see how we speak to the elders? We can not even honestly handle a civil debate. We applaud those that are disrespectful to elders branding them as heroes and bold.

We are a generation that is so sentimental. We have been preconditioned by different estates like the media, pushed to trivialism, we have been rendered to nothing but a trivial Generation. In reference to our current political atmosphere , let’s look at the major political contenders who seem to be representing our generation, besides sensationalism and populism, what do they really stand for?

Is it of coincidence that 80% leaders of the world don’t belong to our generation yet some preside over the largest economies

A leader is always a reflection of society. This has been a basis for the success of most revolutions in the world because they have portrayed to stand for what the masses at that time were standing for. As a generation we must push our standards high in order to avoid attracting and being duped by mediocre politicians masquerading as saviours or generational leaders.
