The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has mede great strides at the registration of female candidates for the 2022 academic year national exams
According to the board secretary Dan Odongo, by the closure of registration exercise yesterday, a total of over 1,280,000 candidates has been registered to sit for this year’s national exams at all the three levels.
The registered candidates include 51% females, while 49% are males.
Over 832,000 candidates have been registered to sit for 2020.Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) compared to 767,000 in 2020.
At the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), 349,000 candidates have registered, while a total of over 97,000 candidates have registered for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
Further records at UNEB shows that over 715,000 (56%) of all the candidates are funded by the government, (UPULETS) while 565,000 (44%) are privately sponsored (Non- Upulets).
The board did not however given its stand on the candidates who may have missed registration since late registration deadline was closed yesterday
