One killed in Kikuube road accident

One person has died in a road accident in Buhimba central, Kikuube district this evening.
The accident has occured at Buhimba central few metres away from Mabale fuel station along Hoima road.
The deceased is Moses Banduho, 62, a resident of the area and a dealer of phone repairs business.
According to reports, Banduho was knocked dead by a speeding vehicle truck (registration number yet to identify) that was headed to Kikuube from Hoima.
Police took long to arrive to the scene of the accident and the angry residents were heard accusing police of negligence.
Further reports indicate that this is a third accident in the area following two different accidents that claimed lives of two teenagers.
Locals attribute road accidents to reckless driving of drivers and the in sorry state of roads.
Badru Tugume, a resident called for respect of road signs by all road users to reduce accidents.
“Reckless driving has escalated and leadership has to find a solution. People no longer respect road signs,” said Tugume.
