Alot have been unearthed after police arrested the Kanungu FM manager who was captured in a video assaulting one of the staff at the station.
According to a statement made to police by the victim, Ms Anita Tumuramye, aka Anitah Rose reveals she was assaulted by her manager Nelson Kagote Twinamatsiko, 51, after she demanded her commission on a school advert for a school she recently scoped for the radio station.
Police heard that Tumuramye brought an advert on January 26, 2023, worth Shs200,000 which was paid in cash, and was entitled to a commission of Shs40000 as per the station guidelines.
However, the suspect (manager Twinamatsiko) breached terms of the guidelines after he outrightly rejected to pay his worker her entitlement despite recording the business.
The victim told police that when she tried to inquire from Twinamatsiko about her commission, he instead melted on her with hot slaps making blood to ooze out of her nose as blood stains can be seen in the video.
“I could not walk to the police that night for fear of my life. The next morning, I went to the hospital for treatment and got the medical form which I took to the police. He beat me mainly because I demanded my money from him,” she said.
In a video, the suspect is seen beating and attempting to strangle the victim despite screams from fellow employees begging him to stop the fight.
The Kigezi regional police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate confirmed the arrest of Twinamatsiko at Kanungu Central Police Station stating that investigations into the matter have already started.
