City become the second English side to winPremier League, FA Cup and Champions League in same season as Rodri’s strike downs Inter
Manchester City have sealed their first Champions League title and a historic Treble with a hard fought 1-0 win over Inter.
City held on to claim a historic Treble and join United in the history books.
Guardiola, who had previously won the Champions League twice with Barcelona, hailed his side’s achievement.
“It’s incredible, it’s a dream come true,” he said. “It’s not easy to do what we have done this season. It’s the toughest competition in the world and we have won it. I am so proud of my players.”
City captain Gundogan echoed his manager’s sentiments, adding: “It’s a special moment for us as a club. This is what we’ve been working so hard for all season. To win all three competitions is something that will go down in history.”
City’s triumph also marks a fitting end to striker Sergio Aguero’s career at the club, with the Argentine set to depart after a decade of service.
It remains to be seen if City can continue their dominance next season, but for now, they can bask in the glory of a historic achievement.
