The commissioner in charge of sports and physical education Rev.can. Dr Mugumya Duncan has asked participants at National Ball games II championship to not only participate in winning trophies but to also participate in building their capacity, develope and identify their talents in different sports.
Commissioner Mugumya was speaking during the official opening of the ongoing National Ball games II championship held at kabale municipal stadium in kabale municipality on Wednesday 12th July, 2023.
He was representating the minister of sports Peter Ogwang.
In his remarks, the commissioner disclosed that the ministry is working so hard to actively improve primary schools sports such that students and the administrators of sports can identify their talents at an early stage.
The National Ball game II championship 2023 is being hosted by St Mary’s College Rushoroza for Kigezi region.
The championship consists of many games discipline like football under 16, for both girls and boys, basketball, athletics and netball among others.
About 8,000 students are being accommodated at St Mary’s College Rushoroza in the ongoing games.
