A self proclaimed member of NRM Special contracts committee on Presidential tasks, Elijah Martin Rusoke has been sentenced by the Anti-Graft Court of the State House for allegedly defrauding Kenyan investors of Shs1.31b.
According to court, Rusoke and others still at large allegedly presented themselves as members of the a non-existent NRM Special Contracts Committee claiming that the Kenyans had won a contract to supply generators in various hospitals that were allegedly under construction in the country.
It is alleged that the group received $361,151 (app. SHS1.37b) from the investors who deal in the supply of electrical appliances for big projects.
Rusoke was today (August 30) arraigned before the KCCA Chief Magistrates Court which found him guilty of two counts of obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to commit a felony. He has been remanded to jail until September 12.
