Former Executive Director of the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA), Dr. Tom Okurut has passed away.
Reports indicate that Okurut died today, Sunday 14th April, 2024, in the afternoon at Platinum Hospital, Nakasero – Kampala.
Okurut was appointed Executive Director of NEMA in 2011 and retired in 2021 after serving his 10 year tenure. He was succeeded by Dr. Akankwatsa Barirega, the current ED.
