A group of Ugandans exiled in different parts of America have formed a coalition with plans to end President Museveni’s 39-year rule in the 21st century.
This was in their declaration document named “The Kisangani Declaration” following an alleged meeting that was held at Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo recently. The attendees according to the document which was seen by Parrots Media included Ugandans exiled in North America, South Africa, Central America, Europe, the middle East, Asia and other parts of Africa.
As per their declaration signed by their chairman Captain Okello John James, they claim to have been forced to flee their country due to brutal and despotic NRM regime.
“We’re conscious of the fact that freedom, equality, justice and dignity are legitimate aspirations of all ugandans;” read excerpts of the declaration.
Other signatories included, general secretary, Lt. Tabitha Ndagire and the spokesperson, Dr. Susan Owori Vivian.
The exiled citizens threatened to mobilize all exiled Ugandans to return home and cause change of the government.
“Our return shall be the end of Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s brutal rule,” the document read in parts.
Self-exiled writer, Kakwenza Rukirabashaija also posted on his official Facebook profile account; “Official statement from Coalition of Exiled Ugandans. No more massaging the dictator and his cronies. #Tujja #M7MustGo and now!”
Government is yet to respond to this document.
