Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu (OBR) Kingdom has cautioned against wrong use of Kingdom’s symbols which they claim has caused confusion among the public.
The Kingdom’s Minister of Information, Mobilization, and Kingdom Spokesperson, Geoffrey Kanyonyi says that many photographers, graphic designers, media outlets and other individuals have consistently and incorrectly used the kingdom’s official flag and emblem which do not represent the kingdom.
Kanyonyi noted that on numerous occasions, unapproved versions of the flag and emblem have been used in materials intended to represent the Kingdom, leading to misunderstandings about its official imagery.
“All BanyaRwenzururu and BanyaRwenzururu – Kali people, disregard the aforementioned symbols, they do not represent the kingdom and must not be used in any form,,” said OBR Information Minister, Geoffrey Kanyonyi.
“Misrepresentation not only causes confusion but also misleads the community and those who value the Kingdom’s heritage.”
The Kingdom emphasized the importance of using approved symbols to maintain the cultural and historical integrity of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu.
Additionally, the OBR Kingdom announced that it will soon introduce authorized agents who will oversee the distribution of official Kingdom materials across the country one way of ensuring accurate representation and easy access to correct information about the Kingdom’s symbols.
