KAMPALA
President Museveni has appointed Hajjati Sharifah Buzeki as the new Executive Director of the embattled Kampala Capital City Authority.
Buzeki has been the commissioner of Human Resource Management at the ministry of Public Service. She replaces Dorothy Kisakka who was previously sacked from this office over alleged negligence and mismanagement in the Kiteezi landfill collapse.
According to the deputy presidential press secretary, Farouk Kirunda, the president has also appointed Benon Kigenyi as the deputy ED. Kigenyi replaces Eng. David Luyimbazi who was also sacked alongside Kisakka over similar reasons.
Kirunda confirmed the appointments noting that the duo’s names have been forwarded to the public service for formalization.
“Their names have been forwarded to Public Service for formalisation. When the process is completed, the Head Public Service/Secretary to Cabinet will formally confirm the appointments,” Haj. Kirunda posted on his X handle .
Hajjati Buzeki holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences all obtained from Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU).
Their appointment follows the sacking of three top KCCA officials including former ED Kisakka, deputy David Luyimbazi and director of public health Dr. Daniel Okello over related to the collapse of Kiteezi landfill that claimed over 30 lives and left hundreds displaced.
