Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe of North Kigezi Diocese on 3rd January, announced several staff transfers and appointments for the year 2025 during the diocesan Synod meeting held at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano.

In the meeting, the council also approved the elevation of Kyabugashe Parish to Archdeaconry status and Mashongora sub-parish to Parish status. Additionally, Canon Dr. Johnson Byabashaija was appointed as the new chairperson for the North Kigezi Diocese Kampala Fellowship, succeeding Canon Jolly Babirukamu, who served for 14 years.

The council, through the Diocesan Secretary and the treasury department, recognized and appreciated parish priests who performed exceptionally well in paying diocesan quota arrears and those who completed their quotas for the year. Each commendable priest received one hundred thousand shillings, while each parish was awarded two hundred thousand shillings.
