KAMPALA
In a strong show of support for the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiya, the Manager of President Museveni’s Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), Wednesday spearheaded a massive relief distribution campaign, reaching thousands of fasting Muslims in Wakiso District.
The campaign, which kicked off in Nansana at Masjid Katangawuzi, extended to Masjid Taqwa in Kakiri and concluded at Masjid Saeed Al Majdour in Kasangati, where large consignments of essential food supplies were distributed.
The relief packages given out included rice, posho, spaghetti, sugar, beans, cooking oil, and milk, among other staples, to ensure that Muslim families observe their fasts without food insecurity and starvation.
The initiative came as a fulfilment of Hajjat Namyalo’s pledge she made on Monday evening during the Iftar dinner at Hotel Africana, an affirmation of President Museveni’s commitment to supporting communities across the country.
In her message at each mosque visited, Hajjat Namyalo emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and spirituality, urging the Muslim community to carry forward the values of Ramadan and good practices beyond the fasting period.

“How I wish the calmness, humility, and good behaviors you showcase during fasting were replicated all year round; we would have a more stable society,” she remarked, adding, “Let’s use this time to seek forgiveness from Allah and from those we may have wronged.”
“So today, we have come with a special package from Jajja Kaguta Museveni as extended support to you during this fasting period,” she added, reassuring the community of ONC’s dedication to uplift the Bazzukulu, especially those in dire need.
Several beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt appreciation to President Museveni, the ONC, and Hajjat Namyalo for their generosity during this critical time, noting that many families struggle to afford meals during Ramadan, but the initiative is a big relief to them.
“This is a blessing. Many of us had no idea what we would break our fast with tonight, but thanks to President Museveni and ONC, we now have enough to sustain our families,” said a beneficiary who preferred to be identified with one name, Abdul.
At Masjid Taqwa in Kakiri, Shamim Nakawooya, a single mother of four, expressed gratitude, saying the food package had come at a time when she was struggling to provide for her children. “May Allah bless Jajja Museveni and Hajjat Namyalo for thinking about us. This support means a lot,” she said with emotion.
Hajjat Namyalo, who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor / Political Assistant, also announced that President Museveni is visiting Wakiso District very soon, specifically Kasangati Division, where he will deliver a public lecture on wealth creation.
“The President is coming to lecture us on how we can fight poverty through wealth creation. As much as we at ONC are pushing for self-empowerment, it is not enough. So, let’s all turn up in big numbers on that day,” Hajjat said.
She also urged the Bazzukulu to be mindful when choosing their leaders, stressing that those elected should be individuals who align with the ruling government and are capable of lobbying for development projects. “A leader who only enriches himself without valuing you is not what you deserve. Let’s avoid the mistakes of the 2021 elections and vote wisely,” she advised.
The ONC Ramadan giveaway campaign is set to extend across various areas in the Kampala Metropolitan area and beyond, ensuring that more muslim communities benefit from both relief support and long-term economic empowerment initiatives.
