At least nine people have been confirmed dead after a bus veered off the road and overturned in Madeni, Kwazulu – Natal, South Africa.
The incident occured on Sunday in N2 North, near Madeni when the 82-seater bus transporting churchgoers from Richards Bay veered off the road. Nine people were confirmed dead including a 4-year-old toddler. 80 others were rushed to various hospitals for emergency medical treatment.

KZN Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma said the bus driver is alive, and he is currently in the hospital being monitored.
