Walugembe’s appointment effected March 1, 2025. He is a renowned academic, Christian leader, and author, with vast experience in education and leadership. He holds a Doctorate in Biblical Studies from Midwest Bible College in the United States, a Master’s in Leadership from Pan Africa Christian University in Kenya, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Makerere University.

Dr. Mark Walugembe, newly appointed DVC-AA African Renewal University.

He has served in various academic and leadership roles for over 20 years and has been instrumental in Africa Renewal University’s recent academic achievements, including the accreditation of new programs and the granting of its charter in 2023.

Beyond academia, Dr. Walugembe is an active minister at Watoto Church Bweyogerere, a leadership consultant, and a devoted family man.

University officials say his appointment is expected to strengthen academic programs and propel Africa Renewal University to even greater heights.

His appointment comes at a time when the university is preparing for her 6th graduation ceremony this year, with over five hundred students expected to receive their degrees, the highest number in its history.
